The Shooting Experience Is All That Matters - Streets Of Tokyo 2025

It’s not just about the specs or the price tag. It’s about picking up a camera, feeling its weight in your hands, and falling in love with every little detail. That feeling? That’s where the magic is.

While writing the review of the X-Pro2, completing the YouTube video review, then shooting and reviewing the Pentax K1000 and finishing the written review of the X-Pro3 (Coming soon), I started to realize more and more that the shooting experience is all that matters. Everything else is secondary, at least to me.

It’s not just about the specs or the price tag. It’s about picking up a camera, feeling its weight in your hands, and falling in love with every little detail. That feeling? That’s where the magic is.

Gear Vs Experiences

This notion had already been in my mind for quite a while, but I think the realization moment was when I walked into a camera store, thinking about perhaps picking up my very first Leica camera, the dream camera that most photographers covet, for whatever reason...

Leica M11 Monochrom

I picked it up, felt the weight and quality, shot with it, loving absolutely every aspect of it and then proceeded to ask myself, would I rather drop $10,000+ on gear, or would I rather spend it on experiences that truly change my life? The answer was crystal clear.

So I did just that, I packed up my things, packed up and sold my studio gear, which you can watch here, and left Canada, just focusing on travelling, and living life, no content creation, no milking locations for views or likes, just living life before I die.

And during that time, the idea hit me. What if I could create something special? a curated, premium experience for people who feel the same way? A street photography experience that’s about more than just taking pictures. Something real, something meaningful. So that’s exactly what I did, and I want to invite you to join.

Why This Experience Matters?

Living in Japan, South Korea, Thailand & Taiwan changed how I see the world. I realized that travelling is one of those life-defining experiences that give you perspective on your life and the world. It makes you think about the things that really matter.

Most of us have about 4,000 weeks to live. How many of those have you spent chasing gear? Or photo trends that mean nothing to you? Or dreaming of becoming a photographer instead of being one?

This experience has been designed with those questions in mind. This workshop is an invitation to self-exploration, to step fully into the present, to focus on your craft and to embrace the profound joy of taking photographs surrounded by like-minded people that make the whole experience better.

"The Meaning Of Your Photography Is To Give Your Photographs Meaning"

In the meantime, I want to shift to talking more about the craft itself than gear, tackling more deeply philosophical topics and ideas that and contained inside the craft or art of photography. Thanks for catching up, appreciate your time.
